Stuff to expect from the STEM shs strand (or senior high in general), a thread
Idk who needs this but I& #39;m doing it
(Idk what else to put in here except my fave chemist, well not anymore but still I& #39;m sorry go read the thread now)

In case some people don& #39;t know, this is for Filipinos who are thinking bout senior high school tracks and the people who are curious with how STEM is.
Take everything I say here with a grain of salt. I just finished shs months ago and I hope that this would help some people...

»» People do say STEM is hard, which is true. But don& #39;t get it into your head. Just do your best. If you want to get honors, that& #39;s fine but remember that senior high is really preparation for the college setting. Of course, don& #39;t get so chill if it isn& #39;t what you expected.
Remember that colleges do look at your grades from both Grade 11 and 12. If you don& #39;t get certain averages, you won& #39;t get into the course that you want.

»»Listen to your teachers when they discuss and take down notes of what they are saying. This is obvious for so many reasons but there are things they say that won& #39;t be in the PowerPoint you just took a picture of because teach is so fast.
»»Remember those pictures I said that you probably took from your teacher& #39;s PowerPoint? Well, I suggest writing them on your notebooks. Idk if it& #39;s just my school but we didn& #39;t depend on textbooks that much. Writing stuff down helps to retain that info. I do this everyday with+
different subjects that I may have either fell asleep in or came in late (rip

Reading from a phone isn& #39;t so great plus I have no self control so I write down on my notebooks/binder. It helps when your teacher says that they& #39;ll checks lectures

(I realized half way that this is becoming way too general so let& #39;s go back to STEM, shall we?)

I would ask help for some of the parts I didn& #39;t understand. Or even here on studytwt. There are smart alecks out there that will be willing to help with calculus, physics and chemistry and biology. Here& #39;s the link to the list of people in studytwt https://twitter.com/aikokoroh/status/1297011527505989632?s=19">https://twitter.com/aikokoroh...
»» I& #39;d honestly would like to say that whatever course you plan either medical or engineering, prioritize which one will be related to your course because it& #39;s important to know those things by heart. All subjects do matter but do your best to learn everything in your preferred
course. You will definitely be bringing that info in college. Plus you can understand at least some of the first new lessons when you are in your first year college classes.

people because I swear you& #39;ll probably regret it. Find them as early as Grade 11 cuz you won& #39;t be staying with them for long. Even if they aren& #39;t great with academics (like most of my friends tbh sorry irls) they can help make senior high life less stressful. Plus bonus if you
get to choose anyone for group projects cuz boom you have an option already (I hate group projects even more if it& #39;s with people that are lazy so I can rely on them a bit) ranting a bit but I& #39;m usually the one explaining to them about stuff that I understand mostly biology
Cuz most of my friends are in the medical field while I& #39;m the one who went for a digital media course haha
Having a group of people means you can have help in anything even if you hate people like I do sometimes lol

»»Study for exams! It may be tempting to cheat but don& #39;t cuz you won& #39;t know anyone by the time you get to college and you can& #39;t chest off from people. In the end you& #39;re gonna be the one who suffers.
Tw/ vices (idk who may be affected but just in case)

friends :< ) they waste their time on doing those things and no care bout what they need to do. They only got their priorities straight half way through grade 12. My school wasn& #39;t great with academics but it was a waste opportunity for most of them. Do everything to strive hard
But also learn before the stress of college sits in and you may not understand anything.
That last one was kinda like a summary
