My Health, Your Mask. A Thread...

As a barista I spend my life handling people's cups, played, money and trash. It's a high infection environment...

As a result I used to be sick quite often. At least a few days of each month if have cold like symptoms, not that I could ever take time off sick but that's a different argument...

Since we reopened we no longer use ceramic cups and plates, we don't handle cash, people have to wear masks, distance and we only use takeaway cups. As a result I haven't been sick for the last 3 months...

Any time someone doesn't throw away their own used cups, refuses to wear a mask or complains at me for not accepting their cash they've had rattlinh around for months I want them to think about this thread...

Is my health less important than throwing your cup in the bin? Less important than spending that £5 note you've held on to for the last month?

For the record I know paper cups aren't fully sustainable but I can't deny that their use and removal of ceramic dishwares has only had positive impacts on my health and my colleagues!
