Yesterday my daughter was sent home from nursery because she had a high temp. Everyone was 95% sure it was the 4 new teeth protruding through her gums, but protocol says there must be a negative covid test to make sure. Thankfully, she doesn't have covid. However...
When I looked online to book a test, I was directed to the nearest available test centre 70 miles away in Leicester. I called up 111, who told me to call 119. 119 said no tests were available on the day.
I asked about the local test centre a couple of miles away in town, which is often empty. They said they had no slots free but I could try it anyway.
On arrival the place was empty. Testers were sat on their phones doing nothing of any value. Thankfully, results returned negative less than 24 hours later.
