I wonder how much more chill life would be if all these media outlets didn’t have to fill time and harvest clicks. NZ is the luckiest country in the world with the least economic or health impact, yet by all the opinion pieces you’d think we were the worst.

We literally don’t know how lucky we are. Inviting more death just to have a fatalistic certainty seems to be giving up pretty early when just a few weeks ago we were the only place in the world- the whole world- we could have sports games and shopping malls at full noise.

And I can guarantee the same chorus that advocates surrender will complain the loudest at every death. People are strange.
