Some employers have realised that perhaps they don’t need big expensive office buildings any more and can save a fortune by staff working from home. However, how can you build a team without them meeting? How can you train and mentor staff effectively? Zoom has its limitations.
Speaking as a solicitor, I have found that most clients are happy to meet by Zoom, but some still want to meet face to face. Zoom doesn’t work well for the hearing impaired. A hybrid model is most likely, a mixture of office & home, Zoom and face to face.
And, to be frank, if people carry on working from home, there will be significant consequences for the economy. To be blunt, my view is that most people now need to go back to the office where possible unless they have a very good reason for continuing to work from home.
