I have just found something on the computer that feels like it was put here just for me.....

the Dave Sim/Alan Moore FAX FEUD
I was reading a bunch of random Alan Moore interview blogs AS ONE DOES and a series of clicks led me to this most intriguing image (obviously recent)

My heart skipped a beat...could it be? Could Dave Sim have at some point been embroiled in an Alan Moore fax feud
Even as (dare I say) the world's biggest fan of the Dave Sim-Chester Brown fax feud it had never once occurred to me that Dave Sim has been in other fax feuds...?

But a quick search led me to this image, accompanied by an introductory essay titled "Dealing with Pagans"
"Dealing with Pagans" (that title...this is already perfect) contains multiple insults of Neil Gaiman

I am losing my fucking mind
having calmed myself and read "Dealing with Pagans" a second time, I'm no longer 100% certain this lengthy fax correspondence is in fact going to be a feud. This is despite the fact that Dave Sim keeps referring to Alan Moore as "the Necromancer" throughout the essay
...and keeps making fun of Moore and Neil Gaiman for loving Princess Diana (i.e. being British) 😂
Part 1 of the Dave Sim-Alan Moore fax feud(?) opens on a discussion of "what is and isn't reality" and how both men don't read the Comics Journal

I imagine this is what people feel like when they unearth an obscure religious text
Dave Sim just asked Alan Moore if he ever worries that fiction is inherently Satantic (I think...)?

Alan Moore: "Well, Dave, that's a hell of a question to ask a man who worships a snake"
this is actually a very good interview so far? just this absurdly long faxed exchange between Sim and Moore, printed in the back of multiple issues of Cerebus in the late 1990s because Sim didn't think the Comics Journal respected From Hell enough...?

whew, what a world
Moore describing how Eddie Campbell had fun with the historical inaccuracies in his script
Moore now describing how he performs ritual sacrifices in the realm of ideas(?) because he's vegetarian

this must've been quite a fax, even by Dave Sim standards
My god in heaven, after roughly 15 faxes' worth of rumination on ritualistic murder, "alien consciousness," and LSD (from Moore), Dave Sim is describing his nervous breakdown. This interview is by turns so funny and creepy and smart and sad 😅
Alan Moore now patiently explaining that the trick is to become a magician before taking LSD. This is wisdom
When you decide not to send your supplementary fax
Moore now describing to Dave Sim, at great length, via fax, the first interdimensional spider god he ever met: "polite," "charming"
I've been reading this for like three hours and am only halfway through. I wish I didn't have to sleep, I love Alan Moore so much
Work is finished; the day is done. Time to kick back, relax, and read more of these FAXES
Today’s fax begins with a novella-length description of a fantasy that Alan Moore had about killing his mother when he was six 😳

This is possibly less alarming than it sounds but the way he talks about murder really does scare the absolute bejesus out of me
One thing that can’t be overstated about this fax feud is how each man sends the other a gnostic fax that is 25 pages in length, literally the most bonkers thing I’ve ever read in my life, and the other guy, in response, *doesn’t even blink*
This could be my contribution to society y’all https://twitter.com/nick_hanover/status/1298789490505506816
Moore concludes Part Three of fax feud by casually mentioning he can give someone a seizure by making eye contact. “I’m not joking.”
This concluded abruptly, with a postscript that Alan Moore wrote about his hopes for the comics industry đŸ˜„

Left with the wild notion that if only I could find a fax machine and plug it in, a 30-page missive from Dave Sim about religious murder would start slowly printing out...
