The movers have now been here for a full 12 hours and are not yet done *loading* the truck. Starting to think this isn’t going very well
In fact I’m starting to think this might be the most dysfunctional and ineffective 4-man team of pro movers you could find
And I feel like... I’ll tell you what I feel like. I feel like someone who has been on my feet for 15 hours, packing, organizing, cleaning, wrangling a toddler and two dogs while the worst 4-man team leaves every front and back door open and stumbles around the house
I feel like someone who was supposed to be in Illinois by now
This team has spent a total of 48 man hours attempting to load the contents of my home into a truck. Seems like we honestly could have loaded a full Walmart by now
Okay this actually is the most dysfunctional team. One of the guys doing the actual loading has informed us of his suspicion that the driver plans to extort us for like $5k above the original quote and hold all our earthly belongings hostage until we pay
I know this sounds like a joke but i am fully serious right now
Morgan’s really mad because he’s been working really really hard all day trying to actually do the work of moving and he’s like “why should I have to pay an extra $5k for that??!!” Ummm yeah the extortion should really be more fair

Everything about this is incredibly fucked and long story short I never ate dinner and I’m sitting in an almost completely empty house with two snoring dogs, a sleeping baby, no furniture, and a box of wine
AND THEY ARE STILL LOADING THE TRUCK
This is @intlvanline by the way!! Apparently they “have great reviews” but “also hire subcontractors,” as we found out today when our incredibly incompetent, highly dysfunctional, very uncommunicative and potentially extortionate driver arrived in an unmarked truck this morning
and I really just feel fucking terrible for the actual team of laborers this person is abusing, who have been working for 14 hours now despite the fact that we have been telling him for the past 5-6 hours that there was obviously no way they were on track to do it in a day
But also Morgan has been laboring alongside them the entire 14 hour (so far) day and this is just insane
It’s literally midnight and this is my baby sleeping on the floor
Okay, @intlvanline’s subcontractor driver did in fact just extort us for an additional three thousand dollars now that he has all our stuff in his truck. It’s also almost midnight because he dragged out the loading for 15 hours! What a day
It actually makes sense now that they managed to make loading the truck take 3 times longer than it ever has in our many other moves. @intlvanline’s whole MO is to push customers to such a level of stress & exhaustion so that they can extort then
All day I was like literally how is this possible, even if they are inexperienced it can’t take THREE TIMES LONGER. But I realize now that @intlvanline created that crisis situation purposefully so they could extort us for an additional three thousand dollars.
