1. You need a good reference. Here’s mine.
2. I always start with very loose general strokes just so I have something to start off with. You’re ALWAYS gonna go back and remeasure, and you should.

-remember the face is dimensional(like a diamond)
-it helps to study and draw skulls
-again, always check proportions
3. Back to what I was saying, BECAUSE the face is dimensional and has planes, you can actually use your brush to find angles and place them where you need them to be.

Ex: Imagine having a blank canvas, I use my brush to line up with different parts of the face.

I like to kinda fill in lightly with burnt sienna and light washes of linseed oil so that it’s easier for me to map out and understand where the fuck everything is. When I get to color it’ll be just placing everything down

My bad, I’m doing this as I go.

3. So boom, it’s not perfect but I’m satisfied with the map. AGAIN YOU ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PROPORTIONS THROUGHOUT! Let’s talk about color. When it comes to color, DO NOT DEPEND ON YOUR BRAIN!!! DEPEND ON YOUR EYES.
—don’t run up in there thinking you have to use just brown. Don’t do that! Lol paint what you see. It also helps to do that cliche art squint.
5. I’ll put examples in later but!!!! I like to spend at least 15-20 min mixing colors I see. You squint and mix. Remember, you have to consider value(how dark and light something is), the color(red, orange, blue etc.) and how warm or cool that color is. For example
6. Once you mix start blocking shit in. One thing that is a little difficult is hair. I usually start off with a base color, so in Nips case, I’ll block it in with an almost black purple or mix of darker colors and then go in with the hints of blue and violet.
I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again and keep saying it TILL THE DAY I DIE. Try to understand the color wheel and learn each colors opposite. It helps A LOT!!! Thats all for now cuz the process of this is gonna take more then a night :p but if you have any question dm mehttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👍🏽" title="Thumbs up (mittlerer Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Thumbs up (mittlerer Hautton)">
