So I've been asked to co-teach with the ELD T at my school since our ELD groups are huge this year, been doing it since Monday, we broke the class in half after the introduction, and eahmch managed a breakout room, it was fun and nice to be teaching again, even if it's not CS
BUT many kids were trying to organize a game on Roblox for after class ended, they were using the chat, I didn't want to block the chat, but I couldn't get them to stop, so I started saying, look at that complete sentence, look that sentence has a capital, there's a period
The more I noticed their good punctuation the more they wrote, the more I complimented their writing the more risks they took, it was so simple and at the end they told me they had never written so much on class before
It was def not the lesson planned but we all seemed to enjoy it, they shared websites to go to to check spelling and find online thesauruses so they could make better sentences
When I showed the main ELD teacher what they had done, they were impressed, bc they spent the whole time admonishing them NOT to do that, and didn't get very far in the planned lesson, gotta go with the flow I guess
