the iwaoi of it all
this is all bri’s fault just. oikawa’s pride and frustration w his own vulnerability makes him someone completely unapologetic abt who he is, but with iwaizumi, the only person who’s seen every last part of him, who’s always seen him as precious and most loved +
he’s afraid. he’s afraid bc he doesn’t know how he’s supposed to be someone who deserves that kind of earth-shattering, soul-destroying, world-creating love, the kind of love thats seen him through every last ugly jagged thing he’s ever said n every last night of bitter tears +
so he’s sorry. he’s sorry that iwaizumi has to put up with all of his frantic, furious hunger. he’s sorry that he asks so much of iwaizumi and iwaizumi always gives it to him, no questions asked. he’s sorry that he’s never going to love anyone the way he loves iwaizumi. +
but it’s iwaizumi, it’s always been iwaizumi, it’s always been iwaizumi watching him with the kindest, most open face he’s ever seen, the face he’s always loved; it’s iwaizumi telling him, what do you have to be sorry for? i love you. i will never be sorry for loving you.
