The fact that hard working professionals are being invited to engage in this emotional labour, in addition to their day jobs, and it being presented as an honour, says a rather lot.
Frankly, we’re tired out here. Living through systemic inequality maybe normalised at every stage of engagement with institutions for the non white. Doesn’t mean it’s okay.
Makes one Q this whole ‘leadership’ business. If those at top lack the creativity, insight and awareness to use existing resources to address inclusion and diversity, but rather immediate solution is to request ‘BAME’ #AHPs to engage in further emotional labour as starting point.
