Rev. Jacob Blake Sr., led the fight for fair housing in Evanston, IL in the 1960s & '70s. He led the Ebenezer AME Church and organized marches after the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King to fight for fair housing.

In April 1968, Evanston city council passed an ordinance banning housing discrimination.
In 1970, #JacobBlake's grandfather spearheaded an effort to bring subsidized housing for low-income seniors to Evanston, Illinois. The complex was known as Ebenezer Primm Towers.
In April 1968, #JacobBlake's grandfather led multiple marches through Evanston, IL to mourn the passing of Dr. King and to fight for an end to housing segregation.
