There are several important lessons here.

To add to what I just said, I actually voted for @LeslynLewis as my 2nd choice on the recent leadership vote. Social Conservatives have an important place in the Party, and to me, that does mean a seat at the table, as per @ErinOTooleMP . 2/

With that said, the first lesson here isn’t that @DerekSloanCPC should be booted from the Party because of his social conservatism, it’s that he should be booted from the Party because he’s an unelectable total moron, as the video I’ve retweeted here irrefutably proves. 3/

The second lesson here is that, when voting for a candidate that espouses freedom of conscience on social issues, we have to fairly concede that if social issues are important to you, you should read up on your local candidate’s views and consider them before voting. 4/

The third lesson - AND THIS IS KEY: Derek Sloan is the MP for Hastings-L&A because reasonable-minded Conservatives obviously didn’t join the party in that riding to support someone with all his marbles. If you want competent candidates, JOIN THE
