(1) More DC 911 chaos: 2 people shot today & @OUC_DC dispatched @dcfireems 4.5 miles from the shooting scene. They were sent to 4301 Wheeler Rd SE off the 1000 block of Southern Ave. The correct location -- in the dispatch notes -- was 4405 Southern. But it gets much worse (more)
(2) LISTEN (Pt 1): Even though an @OUC_DC call-taker put the correct address in the notes, OUC ignored it. They didn't correct the call. It took Amb. 19B to realize something was wrong. At the same time, Amb. 30B happened upon the shooting scene. But there's more to this. (more)
(3) LISTEN (Pt 2): The dispatchers didn't have a clue how far Wheeler & Southern is to 4405 Southern (which is actually a PG address). They caused even more chaos by trying to send the same units to assist Amb. 30B even though the EMS supervisor tried to set them straight. (more)
(4) It took more than 5-minutes from the time Amb. 19B
alerted @OUC_DC that they have the wrong location until OUC dispatched the closest units to assist Amb. 30B. It's another example of OUC's staff not knowing DC's roads & landmarks. It's a constant problem. (more)

(5) I heard all this go down while I was working on other @OUC_DC dispatch issues that occurred during this morning's fatal crash on Suitland Parkway. I'll try to get to that one tomorrow. But this shows just how frequent OUC mistakes & delays happen. (more)
