au where a stain appears on your skin if your soulmate touches you

Izuku heard about it when he was a little kid, but he thought it was a farytale. But at the age of 8, he learned that it was something real.
His mom showed him her stain and when he told Kacchan about it, the blonde didn’t believe him. The little 8 yo Kacchan asked his mother and she showed him her stain, and the boy demanded his father to show him the matching one.

The little boy didn’t sleep so much that night.
Yet, Izuku was excited because he was sure Kacchan had to be his soulmate, so one day he tried to touch his arm.

Katsuki pushed him away, glaring with scared, angry eyes before running off.

Next day, Katsuki appeared in a sweater and Izuku didn’t see much of his skin anymore.
Almost ten years have passed since then and Katsuki still wears sweaters every day.

Izuku didn’t attempt to touch him again.

They went through a little weird period after that incident and Katsuki was really tough with him for a while, but nowadays they’re friends.
Not intimate friends, but close enough.
They hang around sometimes, and are a constant in each other’s lives.
Izuku thinks he’s the only friend Katsuki has, because he’s tough with everyone else around them, like he didn’t /want/ anyone else around him.
But Izuku knows him well and knows he’s lonely, so he introduced Katsuki to some of his other friends, hoping to expand his social circle. Though the thought pained Izuku, he believed that if Kacchan finally found his soulmate, it would be worth it.
Given the circumstances, after years and years waiting, Izuku started to think about his own soulmate, assuming that Kacchan couldn’t be the one.
If a person is so scared of being your soulmate, they can’t really be your soulmate, right?
So Izuku started searching.
He hadn’t touched anyone else up to that point, which was just a societal norm in this world.
So Izuku started going on dates as it was the best and least awkward time to touch another human being.
Though his dates ended bitterly when they touched each other by accident,
or on purpose, and nothing happened.

And every time he talked about the searching thing, Katsuki would bark something like “Fuck off” and further distance himself from Izuku.
When Izuku was looking for somewhere to rent during college, he thought about asking Katsuki to move in with him.
They were going to go to the same college, and Izuku was his closer friend, so it made sense, but he couldn’t find the courage to voice the question.
Having Kacchan by his side, day after day, knowing they were something impossible?

So he moved in with another guy, a redhead named Kirishima, and Katsuki moved to a nearby place with a guy named Kaminari.
Both roommates ended up becoming good friends with Kacchan, so it became common for the four of them to meet up to hang out.

One night, Izuku and Kirishima called the two blondes to watch a movie and play some games. Kirishima was out grabbing some snacks so Izuku received them.
The blondes settled in the living room as Izuku prepared some drinks. He was setting the colas on the center table when they noticed a bandage covering Izuku’s elbow and upper arm.

“Hey, what’s that?” Denki asked.

“Ah, hm
” Izuku started, tugging at the bandage.
He stopped when he heard the door.

“I’m hooooome!”

“Welcome, Kiri! You need help?”

“If you don’t mind”

“I’m coming!” And Izuku left Kaminari searching for a movie in the catalog and Katsuki just sitting there, staring at the air, frowning.
When the boys came back, Izuku sat on the ground, passing some snacks to the other boys. He kept a bowl for himself and started eating.
Kirishima looked at him, still standing, and gave him a light kick.

“You’re eating my stuff”

“Share with me”
“I asked you what you wanted before I left, Mido, just-”

“Please?” Izuku whined, pouting.

“Uh. ‘Kay” the redhead relented.

And Katsuki’s eyes widened when he saw Kirishima patting Izuku’s green hair. He sat beside Katsuki, on the couch, and called Izuku to move closer.
Izuku ended up sitting beside Kirishima’s legs and the latter reclined to grab the snacks from the same bowl.

He felt eyes on him and turned his head; Kaminari was looking at him with an expression he supposed reflected his own face.

They watched the movie in silence.
Well, the two blondes were silent, barely paying attention to the movie as they searched for marked skin or matching bandages.

Katsuki knew Izuku was looking for someone, but really? Izuku didn’t even tell him?
And even if Katsuki thought he was prepared for such an eventuality, he wasn’t.

---
He liked Kirishima; he was a good, caring guy, but he hadn’t pictured him with /his/ Izuku. But they made sense, after all. They were both charming, full of goodness and joy.

Even so, he needed time to process it.

He was devastated, and his roommate seemed to feel the same.
They didn’t talk about it going home that night. Nor the next day. They didn’t even cook, eating leftovers and poorly made sandwiches, letting themselves drown in their own thoughts.
But Katsuki knew they needed to take care of themselves,
so he started to cook a proper meal for both and called Kaminari when it was done.

“Here. Eat” He grunted, sliding a plate full of homemade food over the table.

“Thanks. You didn’t have to”

They ate in silence, only speaking again once they were both full.
“I guess you didn’t know either” Kaminari said, breaking the heavy silence. Katsuki just shook his head in response. “And you think
? They really
 Hmmm
Neither of them normally touch anybody else, right? So
” the boy sighed heavily, dropping his head into his hands,
both elbows on the table. “It’s lonely here. I left all my friends behind when I moved here, and now this
”

“I know I’m not very helpful”

“No. I mean
I appreciate that you’re here. We’re friends and it’s really nice having someone to talk to, but you know
”

“Yeah, I know”
Kaminari’s hand flitted nervously to touch his choker, stroking the buckle as he tilted his head.

“I
 I don’t think we
I mean-” he faltered, straightening one arm over the table. “I don’t think we’re made for each other. I mean /you/ and me, so
 Can you just
 Grab my hand?”
Katsuki moved his hands to hide them under the table, balling them into fists. The two remained silent as Kaminari retracted his hand, clutching his head again and looking down.

“Sorry about that. I know how you feel about the soulmate’s thing. I’m being selfish, sorry”
Katsuki got up wordlessly, storing the leftovers in the fridge and starting the dishes. When he turned around, Kaminari was still there, hunched over the table, hands locked in his hair.

Katsuki approached slowly, though.

Kaminari didn’t seem to notice.
Apprehensively, he raised a hand and caressed Kaminari’s fingers.

The boy jumped startled and stared him dead in the eye.

They both looked down at their hands, where Katsuki’s fingers still rested on Kaminari’s skin.

---
“It’s the third time he asked to come over this week”

“If you are okay with it, I don’t mind if he comes over” Katsuki responded nonchalantly, sitting on the couch beside Kaminari.

“You sure?” Denki let his head rest over Katsuki’s shoulder and looked up at him.
“I’m sure” Katsuki offered him one of the carrot sticks he was eating and Kaminari took one, making an ugly face.

“What’s this? Where’re the Doritos?”

“There are not going to be any Doritos for us. We’ve got to take better care of ourselves after the last couple days”
“Uuhh” the electric blonde groaned, chomping down on the carrot stick. “Oh, well, that’s not bad”

After another moment, Katsuki asked. “Are you gonna tell him to come over, then?”

“Uh, I guess. But I will need you here”

“You’ve been so dependent on me lately. Look at my hand.
I’m not the one, okay?” Katsuki grumbled, waving his open hand in front of Denki’s face.

“I’m asking you this as a /friend/, Kats. I’m not trying to make you my boyfriend, okay?” Denki swatted at Katsuki’s hand, forcing it out of his face.
“I’m out of your league, though” Katsuki added, using the same hand to lightly punch Denki.

“Oh, thank you! With friends like you I don’t need any other guy breaking my heart” He punched him back. “Idiot” He made a face. “And you’re not my type, okay? I’m out of your league too”
“Are you actually being serious right now?” Katsuki looked at him out of the corner of the eye, raising an eyebrow.

“I am. You’re an asshole. I only agreed to rooming with you because this place is nearby Eiji’s place and I can’t afford to rent a place on my own”
“I appreciate ur sincerity. It was the same for me” Katsuki shrugged and leaned back on the couch.

“So zero interest, right? Like /really/ zero and /always/ zero interest between us?” Denki asked, leaning closer to emphasize his point.

“Like hell, man. You know what’s going on”
“And you know what’s going on, too. So this is ok” Denki shrugged before changing the topic. “Just
I need support. And affection. I’m touch-starved, man” He whined, latching onto one of Katsuki’s arms.

“You’re making it sound so gross” He tried to break free, but Denki
wasn’t letting go.

“Live with it”

Katsuki tousled Denki’s bangs roughly with his free hand, blocking his view. “Don’t push your luck, kiddo”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever, big bro” the boy responded sarcastically, releasing his grip on Katsuki’s arm and pushing the hand away from
his face, smoothing his bangs back in place. He reclined on the couch and draped his legs over his friend’s lap. “I’m gonna tell him to come over, then”

But Katsuki saw the look in those golden eyes and tapped one leg, calling for his attention. “Hey. We can do this, okay?”

---
The boy nodded and typed on his phone, setting it aside when he finished. It wasn’t unusual to hang out in one another’s apartments, so Kirishima knew he could come over anytime if neither of them told otherwise.

“And if it’s too much for us,” Katsuki started,
“we can move into another place a little farther away” But even as he said it, Katsuki knew he would never leave Izuku behind. He sighed. “Maybe it’ss time for us to start searching”

“Wah- Are we giving up?”

Katsuki let out a dry laugh. “What do you wanna do?
Is there even anything we can do?”

“Well. It’s not like everything’s set in stone. We don’t know if they’re
We don’t know for sure. And even if they are, there are people who date without stains”

“But Deku was searching
 And the bandage
”
“I know
” Denki patted his shoulder and Katsuki was suddenly thankful he at least had Denki on his side.

The guy was a dumbass and he didn’t like him when they met, but now he was glad they were friends.

The day Kaminari had opened up to him and told him he loved Kirishima but
was terrified to touch him
Katsuki found a confidant. They get along easily after that.

“I'll search for dates for us. Maybe we can find someone, even if it’s not our soulmate” Denki said, playing with his choker.
“You think you can date someone knowing how you feel about another guy and knowing there’s someone else, somewhere, who’s made for you?”

“I understand your point, but
I know people who are dating without stains and they’re doing well, they seem happy”
“Yeah, but we’re so young. The day those people receive their stains
”

“And if they don’t? I mean
What if they don’t have a soulmate? Or if they never find each other?” Denki looked deep into Katsuki’s eyes, lowering his eyebrows. “What if I never found someone?”
Katsuki offered a hand and Denki took it, letting himself sat again on the couch. Katsuki wrapped an arm around him and looked away, as Denki rested his forehead on Katsuki’s shoulder.

“We’re gonna figure this out” Denki’s phone pigned but he didn’t move.
“I feel lost” The boy murmured into his friend’s shoulder.

“Me too. I’ve felt like this for years. I always knew he would find someone
but I wasn’t prepared for it to actually happen
”

“You can find someone too. I’ll help you find your soulmate” He put a hand over Katsuki’s
free one.

“I don’t know if I even want to find whoever it is” Katsuki huffed.

“I want to. But I want it to be him”

Katsuki hugged Denki when he noticed the tears on his clothes. He was not a very empathetic person, but he could totally understand what Denki’s suffering.
“Are you sure you want him to come?”

“I don’t know. But I do know that I miss him”

“Then stop staining my shirt with your eyeliner and go clean yourself up; he could be here any minute”

Denki rubbed his eyes, getting up. He laid a gentle hand over Katsuki's pale blonde head
as a thanks, offering a sad smile. Ten minutes later he was back. His phone pigned once more, and he glanced at the screen.

“Kats?”

“Hm?”

Denki peeked at Katsuki, his apprehension palpable. “Midoriya is coming too”

“No” Katsuki blurted.

“Yes. They’re coming now”
“No” He repeated, something suspiciously like panic in his voice.

“I
I’m not- I’m not prepared to see them together
 Not by myself”

“I’m leaving” Katsuki got up and grabbed his keys. Denki bolted towards him, grabbing his clothes.
“You can’t leave me here alone with them. Don’t do this to me!”

“I can’t do this, Kami, I just can’t”

“Me neither. And definitely not without you”

“What can we do, then? What if you just
Wait. Tell him you have something to do, something you’d forgotten”
“Okay, okay, good idea” The boy typed with one hand, the other still clutching Katsuki just in case he ran away. Kirishima called. Katsuki recognized icy fear in Denki’s eyes, and his insides twisted as Denki trembling finger pressed the slowing phone icon.
“Hey, hi, sorry, I forgot I’d already made plans”

“Don’t worry, I know you’re a mess, anyway. Are you going on a date or something?” He laughed at the other end of the call.

Denki chuckled nervously, fingers shaking. “Yeah
”
“Oh
Um, well, is Bakugou home? It’s been a while and we can wait for you at your apartment?” Denki looked up at Katsuki, who shook his head violently. No fuckng way was he going to do that.

“I
 He
He’s coming with me. Next time, okay? I gotta go, bye”

“Uh. ‘Key. Bye, then”
Denki sighed and finally let go of Katsuki’s shirt, wrapping his arms around his stomach and hunching over.

“Kami, you do realize you just told him we’re going on a date together, right?”

“EHH?”

----
“I’m ready!” Izuku called, leaving his room.

“We’re not going”

“Eh? Why?”

“Denki said
Well, I’m not sure what he said, but he’s not gonna be home” Kirishima explained, still staring down at his phone.

“And what about Kacchan?"

“He’s going with Denki” Izuku got a good look
at the expression on Kirishima’s face & faltered, approaching his friend slowly.

“What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know. I asked him if he was going on a date as a joke and he
said yeah? And then that Bakugou was going
 with him? You
 You don’t think they
 right?”
“Whoa, wait, what?” Izuku guided him to the couch & had him recount the conversation, almost word for word.

“So, did Denki actually say they’re going on a date or am I imagining it?”

“I don’t know. Didn’t he?” Izuku asked, a frown beginning to show.

“He said that he was, yes”
“Yeah, but didn’t you say you were joking when you asked, and that he laughed?”

“Sure, but ne sounded nervous”

“Well, maybe they’re going to meet some friends?” Izuku offered.

“Why wouldn’t he just tell us that then?”

“Kiri, I think you’re just overthinking it”
“I guess” Eijirou laughed weakly, rubbing the back of his head. He let his hands fall into his lap and looked down at them. “I’m just scared”

“I know, come here” Izuku said, hugging the redhead.

---
“Guys, open the dooooooor. I’m bringing you food”
Denki jumped off the couch and ran towards Katsuki’s door.

“Kats. Kats!!” He whisper-yelled, knocking the door.

“The fuck you want?” Katsuki grunted, opening the door.

“He’s here. Maybe they’re here. Come out!”
“No fucking way” Katsuki snarled.

“Come on!” Denki seized his shoulders and pushed him to the front door, hiding behind the larger man.

“Be quiet, for fuck’s sake” Katsuki looked through the peephole. Only Kirishima stood there, raising one hand to punch the door again.
“GUYS!”

“It’s just Kirishima” he muttered over his shoulder, so only Denki, who was still hiding behind him, would be able to hear. “Now back off, stop touching me”

After letting Kirishima in, the three dug into chinese take and watched reruns of a random show.
Kirishima talked too much, in Katsuki’s opinion, but he was barely paying attention, until

“
I ruined it doing laundry and now I have to go to buy another bandage for him”

Denki and Katsuki made eye contact for half a second, before Denki grabbed his dishes and stood;
he needed a way out, just in case.

“What is he wearing that bandage for, anyways?”

“Oh, don’t you know? That accident he had last month left a rough scar and now he’s used to covering it. But I’m an idiot and ruined one of his bandages”

Katsuki and Denki shared a glance.
Well, at least the question of the bandage was out of the way.

“Let me have those” Katsuki interjected, grabbing the dishes and heading to the sink. He wanted to give them some private time to talk, maybe Kaminari had something else he wanted to discuss with Kirishima.
“It’s been a while. Have you been busy?” Kirishima inquired.

“A little” Denki hedged, laughing weakly.

“I’ve missed you, u know?”

“Uh. Really? It wasn’t that long” He laughed nervously this time, pretending to tidy up the little coffee table so didn’t have to make eye contact.
“The last time, you two ran off when the movie ended, and we haven't heard from you since then”

“I don’t know, Katsuki and I have been spending more time together lately”

“
I see” Kirishima mumbled. Katsuki reentered the room, looking at Kaminari, who nodded. Kirishima got up.
“Well, I guess I’ll go, I don’t wanna disturb you two” He smiled, collecting his things.

“You can stay” Denki blurted hastily.

“Yeah, you’re not disturbing anyone” Katsuki added, sitting on the couch.

“We can meet another day. Midoriya wants to see you too” Eijirou responded,
glanced at Katsuki.

“Sure” Kaminari walked him to the front door and the two of them hesitated.

“Don’t disappear again, okay?” Kirishima requested fervently, turning to Kaminari as they stood in the apartment entryway.

“I didn’t disappear”
“You didn’t text me for most of a week. You know you can talk to me about anything that’s happening in your life, right? You have friends besides Bakugou”

“Yeah, I know, he’s just
I’ll text you, I promise. I was just
 processing”

---
“They’re not the same” Kirishima remarked, voice lace with miserable certainty.

“Are you sure? I mean
 I know you’re scared, but
 I don’t see it”

“Go see them yourself then”

“We can invite them to come over this weekend” Izuku suggested.
“No. I’m not
I don’t want to. Go see them and tell me then whether I’m just overthinking it”

“Okay, I’ll text Kacchan tomorrow” Izuku decided.

“Thanks”

“Now just stay quiet, you know this isn’t my kind of thing”

---
Katsuki was nervous that day, pacing the living room. It was making Denki nervous too.

“Quit pacing, it’s making me edgy”

“Shut up!” Katsuki spat the words over his shoulder, continuing to wear a rut into the floor.

“Come here!” Denki finally sighed, waving a hand at him.
Katsuki approached reluctantly, deciding he needed to calm the fuck down. Denki settled his hands on Katsuki’s shoulders and gave them a squeeze. “We answered the bandage question, and Kirishima didn’t indicate that anything was going on between them. Maybe they just did what we
did. Or touched by accident and saw that nothing happened”

“Don’t let me hope. I’ve spent ten years getting my hopes crushed
”

“Maybe you shouldn’t. I mean
maybe we should just touch them. So we can be happy or move on”

“I can’t do that”

“
 Me either” Denki agreed,
making a face. “But hey, you could kill a man by clapping, you got this”

“You really are a fucking dumbass, aren’t you?” Katsuki said, but he let his forehead rest over Denki’s shoulder a moment, catching his breath. The bell rang. "Alright" he rumbled, straightening and
nodding. “Stop touching me”

“I know, I know! Just go open the damn door, grumpy”

After a few minutes of small talk, they moved to the living room. Izuku, like usual, was babbling their ears off. He was also showing a lot of skin, which wasn’t unusual lately, but it pissed
Katsuki off. He perched himself on the edge of the couch & the 3 of them started playing a board game.

Eventually Izuku lost an important advance and throw himself back on the couch.

Katsuki, glancing over, saw Izuku’s shorts slide up & reveal a red stain just above his knee.
Katsuki felt like the ground had just dropped out from under him. He stood abruptly, leaving the game unfinished on the table. Denki looked up at him and saw his expression. “Kats?”

“Sorry, Kami, I
” But Katsuki couldn’t finish. He simply turned and went to his room, leaving
a heavy silence behind him.

Denki followed him with his eyes, as did Izuku. Izuku stared at the door as Denki got to his knees, looking the green haired boy over. Then he saw it.

A red stain.
He fell back onto his butt, putting on a poker face when Izuku turned.

The boy looked down at his own hands and saw the now uncovered stain. “Oh” he said, rubbing the stain. He looked up and found Denki staring at him. “Totally Kirishima’s fault. I told him to be quiet and now
he says it’s my fault for wearing shorts” He pulled his shorts down, laughing awkwardly. “Anyway, is Kacchan okay?”

Denki stayed silent for a moment, dropping the pawn he’d been clutching to the table and getting up. “I’m
hmm,” Was all he could manage bedore he went to
Katsuki’s room, not stopping to knock. Izuku frowned, Kacchan didn’t like people doing that kind of thing. But he didn’t hear a scream, just a quiet “Kami”. He felt
jealous. Maybe Kirishima was right & things were different between the blonds. He got up and approached the door.
“Guys? Is everything okay?”

“Just
 give us a second”

“Hm
” Izuku went back to the couch and collected his things. He was uncomfortable sitting in their living room all by himself. “I-I think I’m going, it’s getting late. Text me if you need something!” He yelled just as the
door opened. Katsuki walked out of the room and shut the door behind him. Izuku frowned again, but he tried to cover it up with a worried face. “You good?”

“Fucking fine” Katsuki spat, refusing to meet Izuku’s eyes. He looked impatient and went straight to the door to open it
for him. Izuku hesitated at the door stoop, looking back at the blond.

“We’re tired, Deku. Just go home” Katsuki pushed Izuku’s back just hard enough to get him moving.

Izuku’s eyes widened in shock. Kacchan never touched him, not even through clothes.
The sound of the door closing pulled him from his shock and he left, thoughts quickly spiraling out control.

---
Kaminari appeared behind Katsuki as he closed the door.

“What happened?” Katsuki’s voice was gruff. Denki looked up at him just before looking away.

“He said it was him”

“Fuck!” Katsuki sank his fist into the drywall, and Denki stopped him before he damaged the wall further.
“Don’t hurt yourself! Fuck, Katsuki!” Denki threw himself at the larger blond, knocking him over and falling to the floor as well. “I know it hurts, but don’t hurt yourself more!” Denki yelled at him.

Katsuki looked at him and saw those golden eyes drowning in tears.
Katsuki stopped as tears began to well up in his eyes. He covered them with his hand.

Denki wobbled back and sat on the floor, resting his back against the couch. He hugged his legs to his chest and started crying. Something broke inside Katsuki and he dropped to the floor
beside his roommate. He slipped an arm around Denki and they hugged, melting into each other’s arms, taking comfort in the contact.

Neither could sleep. Neither wanted to be alone, either. So they spent the night on the couch. They put on one movie after another,
sliding in and out of consciousness. They didn’t hear from Izuku or Eijirou for three days, for which they were grateful; they needed some time to process their new unpleasant discovery.

---
is anybody still reading this?
“Come here”

“Leave me alone, dude” Katsuki groaned.

“Come on, let me”

“/You/ let me, fucking fuck”

“Uhh, you’re impossible” Denki threw himself over Katsuki on the couch, trying to paint the latter’s eyes.

“FUCK OFF!”

“MAKE ME!”
“I’m gonna punch you so hard
!” Katsuki tried to heave Denki off his lap, but the blond was insistent.

“Do it, I don’t care!”

Katsuki pushed his face back roughly. “Don’t say that, asshole!”

“You’re the asshole. Just let me. I have plenty of cleansing wipes if you hate it”
Katsuki sighed angrily and muttered a “fuckng fine”
Denki smiled, which was something Katsuki hadn’t seen him doing much lately. So he thought it was worth it, even if he ended up looking like a racoon. He let the boy put eyeliner on him and he had to admit, Denki did a good job.
“It suits you. Your eyes look more
wild” Denki complimented, sitting on the floor in front of the couch. The coffee behind him was two inches deep in beaty products and mirrors.

“Then I’m gonna keep it, I don’t want anyone around me at the fucking party anyway”
“And what’s the point of going, then? We’re /supposed/ to look for dates, Kats”

“Fuck you, I don’t want to”

“But we’re gonna do it”

Katsuki frowned deeply. He watched Denki painting his nails. Black, like always. “Are they going?” He finally asked the question that had been
weighing on his mind, apprehensive of the answer.

“Yeah, but it’s a good plan. We're going to be in public so we can just leave if we have to. U know it’s only a matter of time before they ask to come over, it has been a while”

“Fuck, I know. But that doesn’t make this easier”
Denki finished with the nails and looked up at him.
“We just can’t spend our lives wallowing in self pity in this apartment” He rested his head over Katsuki’s knees, scrolling through his social media, careful to not mess up his fresh painted nails.
“You say that now
” He hovered a hand over the blonde hair, playing with it idly. “Did I ever tell you Deku tried to touch me when we were kids?”

“You didn’t” Denki stopped scrolling. “And what did you do?”
“I pushed him away. I was only eight years old and I was scared
It doesn’t make sense. Why was I so worried back then? We were only children”

Denki let the silence stretch following Katsuki’s response, not knowing what to say. “When did you two meet?”
“I don’t know. I can’t remember a life before him” Denki straightened and put his chin over Katsuki’s knees, looking up at him again.

“Really?”

“Literally”

“That’s cute. And sad. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I feel like mine’s a high school crush compared to ur story”
“Don’t underestimate your feelings. But, well, at least you’ll move on faster if that’s the case” Added Katsuki, shrugging.

“I don’t know. It just feels
Weird, thinking about not loving him”

“Like you wouldn’t be yourself if you didn’t feel that way
” Katsuki said,
though it was more for himself.

“Totally. Like something would be missing”

“Uh, we’re being so cheesy. It’s making me sad in a different way” He pat Denki’s head, asking for space to move, and got up. “I’m gonna put on a sweater and I’m ready”
“Can I borrow one? I’m feeling like wearing something really oversized”

“Come pick one”

“Yeey!”

---
“They’re already there”

“They told you?” Kirishima lifted his eyes from his phone, waiting for Izuku’s response.

“No. Kaminari posted a photo. Look”

“Well, yeah, Kaminari is there” Kirishima said, dryly.
Seeing Kaminari pretend kissing another guy’s cheek didn't feel particularly pleasant.

“Kiri, the other guy is Kacchan” It took a trained eye to notice, what with his green hair, but Izuku’s face was tinting green, like he wanted to be sick at the revelation.
“What? How do you know? The guy’s wearing a mask and a hood”

“But I know him well. The size, the body
and look, here. That’s his blonde hair”

“We’re fucked. I don’t wanna go”
“But we’ve gotta, okay? I know it sucks but we can’t avoid them forever” He paused and looked at the photo again. “I
This is stupid, but I’m feeling jealous”

“I’m jealous too, Mido, it’s
 We love them”
“But you two are different. You met like two years ago, and you might actually have a chance. You just don’t have the confidence to talk to him or touch him. I think it’s normal you feel this way because you want that with him. But me
”
“You what? I think you’re lying to yourself so hard” Kirishima sounded serious, almost scolding him.

“I’m not lying to myself. I know I love him, but I also know we’re impossible. And not just now, I’ve known it for years”
Kirishima sighed. “Look, I’ve been thinking and Kaminari is very affectionate when he’s comfortable with someone. As far as I know, he has friends who he’ll hug and cuddle, so maybe he’s just lonely and Bakugou is comforting him?”
“Kacchan’s not that type of person. I mean, I’ve never seen him touching anybody but his parents. Never. Not even through clothes”

“So, you think they’re dating?”

“Uh. I don’t know. It’s like I don’t know him anymore. He seems so out of my reach now”

“Mido
