And nobody in the media would be interested in talking about their "legitimate grievances" or insisting their demonstrations were "mostly peaceful." The most violent footage would dominate the evening news. Republican politicians would be badgered about it CONSTANTLY. https://twitter.com/BuckSexton/status/1298334346743554054
The media would absolutely lose its collective mind if the Republicans tried to hold a convention without discussing the MAGA Hat Riots. The ONLY story about the convention would be the failure of the GOP to denounce the violence. Silence would be taken as support for violence.
Instead of demanding respect for their grievances, the media would castigate the rioters for trying to force their will on the public through violence. "Experts" would be paraded on the screen to tell us that indulging their demands in the slightest way would be dangerous.
We would be told a thousand times over that the most important thing was to avoid legitimizing political violence. Everyone involved in any sort of conservative demonstration or GOP politics would be linked to the rioters. No Republican would be allowed to distance himself.
We would know who the leaders of the violent groups were. The media would stop at nothing to identify and doxx them. They'd become cartoon supervillains overnight. Versions of them would appear as the killer of the week on crime dramas.
Every single strand of Republican or conservative politics would be treated as accessories to vandalism and murder. Even the most innocuous conservative cause would be linked to the rioters, and every penny donated to them would be treated like bullets in a gun.
This isn't just a thought experiment. Remember Tucson and the "Climate of Hate?" DNC Media claimed everybody who supported tax cuts was an accessory to murder. Everyone who favored deregulation was supporting anti-government terrorism.
People like Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh were EXPLICITLY accused of responsibility for murder. There was no "mostly peaceful" talk - every person who leaned to the Right, even a little bit, was held responsible for nourishing the Climate of Hate.
There was no sympathy for legitimate grievances, no interest in separating reasoned criticism from alleged violent extremism... and the actual killer wasn't even remotely connected to the politics that were condemned as creating this anarchic Climate of Hate!
This wasn't just one or two loudmouth lefties. It was virtually the ENTIRE mainstream media, shouting in unison, beginning before the bodies in Tucson were cold and lasting until long after we knew who the deranged killer was. They indicted every conservative in America.
The media narrative was that everyone with conservative views was guilty by association, even if you weren't committing mayhem or even verbally supporting it. The very existence of your belief system was treated like radioactive waste. It went on for MONTHS.
You were told that if you were any kind of decent American, you'd withdraw from politics completely and shut up, because even the mildest call for conservative policies was feeding the Climate of Hate and emboldening violent extremists. No exceptions were made.
Now we have outright domestic terrorist groups looting, burning cities, and yes killing people, and because their leftists, the media action line is that it's just a few quirks in a mostly peaceful movement brimming with legitimate grievances. It's YOUR fault they're so angry!
Go back and read the "Climate of Hate" sewage the media was pumping after Tucson and imagine what coverage of Antifa and Black Lives Matter would be like if REMOTELY the same mindset was applied to the ongoing violence and destruction we're seeing in numerous cities today. /end
