WHY STORHAUG IS THE BEST PART OF STAVANGER, A THREAD:
Storhaug slander on my timeline? Like Eddie Hearn, I’m not having this.
Storhaug is one of the most historical yet one of the most «in» and «hip» places right now. The district is named after two huge burial mounds, hence the name. Storhaug is the district closest to the centrum which makes Storhaug so unique (I’ll obviously come back to that)
Storhaug consists of three parts: Storhaug, Varden and Vassøy. Due to political reasons Vassøy will not be a part of this thread although it’s a surprisingly nice place, especially during the summer
So, let’s talk about the Storhaug part of Storhaug. This part is the closest to the city and known as «Stavanger Øst». Traditionally the definition of working class, with huge factories located close to Badedammen. However, the last decades it has gotten a massive glow up (1/2)
especially the areas around Lervig (1st picture) which has actually been named “Grünerløkka Stavanger” by Selvaag Bolig, and Tou scene (2nd picture) (2/2)
