If you're replying to any of my tweets on what Brad Stevens, Jaylen Brown or Marcus Smart had to say about the social injustice in this country with any version "They need to shut up and play." or "If they care, donate their whole paycheck." or any attempt to deflect, just stop.
You are part of the problem. Actually, you are the problem. This is why players don't feel heard. Because when they speak, you tell them to shut up. You don't want to hear that things are broken. You don't want to told that a group of people in out country are treated subhuman.
It's incredible that in 2020, with all the bullshit we have been through, some of you still feel that it is your inherit right to watch basketball without "distractions". Grow up. Find empathy. Support your fellow man in helpful ways. If players decide not to play, support it.
I make my living off the NBA and players playing basketball. But if players decide not to play, I support that. If that's how they get heard, I support that. NBA players are predominantly Black. All they want is the right to be Black and not be treated differently because of it.
I can't understand how this is even a conversation anymore. If you feel differently, keep it to yourself. This isn't a debate I am going to have. Killing people because of the color of their skin is wrong. There isn't a debate to be had there. It's just wrong. Full stop.
