The hopped-up-to-the-gills-on-stimulants aesthetic alienated most people not in the Trump camp already, but it's actually one that has a long history of being used by fascists, authoritarians, and cult leaders.
Hitler, Fidel Castro and even cult leader Jim Jones all used similar strategies of emotionally overloading their audiences, for the purpose of breaking them down emotionally so they can be remade in the leader's image.
An aesthetic that mimicks the effects of cocaine and other hardcore stimulants is about emotional flooding, to overwhelm and audience and make them incapable of clear thought. Because clear thought is the enemy of Trumpism.
Trump rallies have always been like this, and were getting worse. Loud music that makes it hard to think, followed by a rambling and incoherent speech that's hard to follow. The whole point is to shut down the ability of an audience to think clearly, or really much at all.
