Every Chelsea transfer window since the 03/04 season reviewed and graded out of 10 in the light of the brilliance of this current transfer window. The windows will be judged based on only the main players signed and their effect on the team. Likes and RTS appreciated x

03/04: The signing of Claude Makalele from Madrid was the main signing of the season alongside the signings of Wayne bridge, Scott Parker,Damien Duff and Joe Cole aswell as a prime Hernan Crespo who was one of the best ST itw. but Adrian Mutu and veron were crap signings tho 7/10

04/05:One of the best transfer windows in chelsea history leading to one of the best PL seasons ever. Drogba & Cečh need no words. Paulo ferreira and Carvalho were part of the best defence in PL history. Alex and Tiago were signed aswell as a young lad called Arjen Robben. 9.5/10

05/06:we had just come off the best season in PL history back then No major additions were needed. Not our best window ever though we signed a young Essien who would turn out to be one of the best in his pos. the rest of the signings were pretty overpriced and unnecessary 5/10

06/07: The signing of chelsea legend and best LB in history ashley cole is enough to give this window. Couple that with the signing of Mikel aswell as the great Michael ballack on a free. Kalou was good enough for cheap. take away a pt for the expensive Shevchenko. 8.5/10

07/08: Malouda, Anelka and Ivanovic warrant a high rating for this window. Belletti was good enough especially the long range Strikes . Pizarro was free but ultimately disappointed. Not as good as the previous one though. 7.5/10

08/09: A smaller window with little success. Bosingwa was okay, deco was good but past his peak and Ricardo Quaresma just wasnt it really. 4/10

09/10: Another smaller window. Daniel sturridge arrived from man city before being loaned out. we would have to wait s couple years for his impact. Zhirkov put in a couple good preformances but ultimately wasn't great and the first signing of matic isn't his impactful one 5/10

10/11: Though I don't understand the signing of benayoun this window would be key in us lifting the 2012 UCL. Torres wasn't brilliant. luiz was good and was sold for a world record fee. and ramires was adored by most chelsea fans. all 3 players having a major role in 2012 7/10

11/12: Chelsea did some shopping in Belgium signings some random kids called de bruyne, courtois and lukaku. Mata and romeu came from spain one being significantly better than the other. Raul meireles was a cult hero and Gary Cahill is a chelsea legend. Ignore piazon tho 8/10

12/13: A small yet brilliant transfer window. Victor moses would prove his value 4-5 years from his signing. Oscar was brilliant to watch. shame he left for money. Eden Hazard is eden Hazard. No need for words and azpilicueta has been incredibly consistent ever since 8.5/10

13/14: The signing of willian and the re-signing matic were solid helping bring success to the bridge. A young Mo Salah and a young zouma followed aswell as the eternal van ginkel. Andre schurrle wasn't great and overall not an incredible window. 6/10

14/15:Diego costa and Cesc fabregas. Two brilliant signings that warrant a high rating. The big money flops of cuadrado and luis don't help the rating though. Loic remy was a good back up scoring some important goals and the return of 36 yr old drogba was bizarre. 7/10

15/16: Pedro was brilliant and in his prime but thats about the only good thing about this window. Baba rahman never hit his potential neither did kenedy. Begovic was an okay backup and falcao even on loan was horrid. 4.5/10

16/17: Ngolo kante is Ngolo kante. best midfielder in the world for that year and up there for the year after. Alonso has been good since his arrival especially in his LWB role. David luiz returned for less what he was sold for and was key under conte. Batshuayi is a flop. 7/10

17/18: Where do I even begin with ffs. Flop after flop after flop. only good player signed was olivier giroud. Morata, Bakayoko and drinkwater were big money flops. Rudiger was okay for the previous seasons and is now way worse than before.

Zappacosta and emerson outlasted the manager who brought them in to fit his style and were for the most part awful and Ross barkley didn't hit the heights expected of him though he had some good performances. if it weren't for giroud this would genuinely be a 0/10. 2/10

18/19: Kepa= -3 points automatically. jorginho was horrible in his 1st season and okay in his 2nd. Higuain was a massive flop and Rob green didn't touch the grass. I will credit pulisic and kova to next season to have something to say though pulisic was a great signing so 2/10

19/20: we were banned but we still managed to buy kovacic aswell as a lot of players returning from loan of which I will only talk about pulisic. Kova was great last season and pulisic was our most threatening player when he played. Quality>quantity. 7.5/10

20/21: What inspired me to make this thread. what a window we are having ladies and gents. Werner and havertz are two of the best players in Germany and are 24 and 21 respectively. Ziyech is the best player in Holland. Thiago Silva is one of the best defenders of our generation.

Malang Sarr is one of the best young defenders around especially for free. Xavier mbuyamba will be the next big thing and ben chilwell is a player who has divided opinions but is Englands LB and id only 23 and will be a starter for years to come. goalkeeper still needed tho. 9/10
