The incident traumatized a family, led to zero charges, and is the subject of an ongoing lawsuit filed against the Louisville Metro Government
The 5 officers are: Brett Hankison, Myles Cosgrove, Joshue Jaynes, Mike Nobles, and Mike Campbell
We reported on the raid two months ago, as part of a longer documentary about Breonna Taylor’s case and police raids. At the time, we didn’t know there was overlap in the officers. But we recently obtained a form with ten names, including those 5
We have unredacted body camera footage from the 2018 raid, which shows unidentified LMPD officers ramming through the front door, firing flash bangs into the house, all while the kids (aged 13 and 14) are screaming
According to the search warrant, officers had received a complaint that weed was being grown/ sold out of the house. But the complaint was filed before the family moved in, and the police didn’t act on it until over 4 months after it was filed
The police say they saw a Black man stop by the house for 10 minutes one day, and that they could smell weed outside on two occasions. They don’t appear to have verified whether the occupants of the home had changed before requesting the warrant or executing the raid

Here’s the video. It includes body camera footage from the raid, and a short interview with the family. They’re still traumatized:
