The Weeknd scrapped a more “upbeat tempo album in favor for My Dear Melancholy” and says that isnt his first time doing it what do you guys think it would of sounded like?
He basically confirms that the After Hours tour was gonna be “a three-act play or a rock opera telling the story of the character from blinding lights video” and also says “then this tour would be about distanced storytelling. Not intimacy with the crowd” 1/2
“Or letting the crowd or letting fans get close to him but let them experience what he’s created” So he really confirms this albums tour will be a Opera type show. The red suit is probably going to be around for a long time while he’s on tours and that fans should enjoy it. 2/2
The Weeknd also confirms he’s working on new music for himself and other artist(read the article for yourself for more information on that) He’s also watching movies and Writing 2 screenplays on a smaller scale and he might act in them maybe. He’s also playing videogames.
It took him 2 and a half weeks to fully write record and mix my dear melancholy abead of its release date. While Abel doesn’t confirm it we can assume My dear melancholy was slightly inspired by House Of Balloons
