Woke up wanting to dive deeper in my Slavic side. Sometimes I feel like my ancestors are screaming, “Okay, enough of the American bullshit go back to your roots.”
Babushka, I wish I was taught more traditions, but it’s not too late. I stumbled across Beata Bojda and Ula Kóska’s modern renditions of traditional Polish headdresses.
“These impressive headdresses are made out of paper by twisting it tightly into flower shapes – a traditional method of creating such wreaths in Poland.”
“-these incredible head wreaths – an iconic part of Slavic folklore. Back in the day women wore them during religious and secular ceremonies such as marriage, funeral, festivals and one on the most important annual celebrations – Easter.”
The photos from the above article are beautifully done, but don’t reflect true traditional style. The makeup isn’t true nor some of the clothing. Here are more traditional photos you would see in Poland.
Photos are from pulled from Lamus Dworski’s article discussing flower crowns in history in Poland. https://lamusdworski.wordpress.com/2017/02/26/flower-crowns/amp/
I have a lot of studying to do but I hope everyone that sees this thread appreciates the beauty of these styles.

I’d love to see more traditional styles below! 🥰 Feel free to add on and have a wonderful day.
