Fuck it.

Definitive Ranking of All Cursive Letters: A Thread

A few notes:
1) These are based on how I write them (which is the correct way, btw)
2) Criteria are Feeling of Writing, Aesthetics, and Connectability to Other Letters (esp. for lowercase)

Let& #39;s get started:
#52: Uppercase V

Clunky to write and difficult to distinguish between uppercase U. A very unpleasant cursive letter, and the worst one
#51: Lowercase r

Looks like a bent staple. Does not resemble the letter "r" at all. Terrible cursive letter
#50: Uppercase C

Basically just a print C with a little curly-cue on top. Very boring
#49: Lowercase c

Only marginally better than uppercase C because it connects well with other lowercase letters. Still very boring
#48: Uppercase U

Similar to uppercase V, but a little bit more fun to write. Overall, though, it& #39;s a capital letter I try to avoid writing because it sucks
#47: Lowercase b

Ugly, ugly letter. Only resembles print b at all if you squint real hard. When you write quickly it becomes indistinguishable from lowercase l. Just awful all-around, and should be ashamed of itself
#46: Lowercase n

When in the middle of a word it can become lost in the mess, just looking like some random humps. Not very fun to write or look at
#45: Lowercase m

All the same problems as lowercase n, but marginally more fun to write
#44: Lowercase v

Sure looks a lot like lowercase u! Similar to lowercase m and n, it gets lost in the middle of a word
#43: Uppercase A

It& #39;s lowercase a but scaled up. Maybe fun to write for a brief moment but overall just bland and uninspiring
#42: Uppercase P

It& #39;s a print P with a little tail. Not offensive, but not original either
#41: Uppercase K

Just not a fan of writing this one. I HATE the little loop in the middle. Takes a letter that is excellent in print and completely ruins it. Such a shame
#40: Uppercase N

It& #39;s a scaled-up lowercase n. It& #39;s got some fun curves in there, but overall just not a very interesting letter
#39: Capital Q

It& #39;s a two-step letter, and no cursive letters should be two steps. Also, in researching this I discovered that some people write their capital Qs like 2s?? Which is also terrible and would be ranked here as well
#38: Lowercase u

A bit more fun to write than lowercase v, which bumps it up a bit. Also can get lost in the shuffle
#37: Lowercase k

Really don& #39;t like the little balloon poking out the side. Makes it look bloated and strange
#36: Capital X

Another one that loses points for being a two-step letter. Overall, I do not have strong opinions about capital X
#35: Capital Y

Another middle-of-the-road letter. The fact that it hits the upper, middle, and lower zones is pretty neat, I guess. Not a letter you get to write very often
#34: Lowercase s

Doesn& #39;t really look like an s. But overall, it& #39;s fine
#33: Lowercase a

Pretty simple, but it flows into other letters nicely and doesn& #39;t take up too much space or time. Lowercase a knows its place and I respect it for that
#32: Capital R

Pretty fun to write, but the end result is ultimately a curvier print R
#31: Lowercase h

I had trouble placing this one. Ultimately, I decided that it& #39;s a fine letter, but nothing about it wows me
#30: Uppercase B

We& #39;re getting into letters that I like. Uppercase B is a fun one to write with just enough flair to keep it interesting
#29: Lowercase x

Very similar to uppercase X, but it blends really well with other letters, which pushed it up the list some
#28: Uppercase D

Pretty similar experience to uppercase B, but I like the end product of this one more
#27: Uppercase G

A really unique one. Doesn& #39;t quite look like print G, but really makes a statement with its own style. Uppercase G really marches to the beat of their own drum
Alright that& #39;s the halfway point so that& #39;s where we& #39;re going to stop for now. Tune in this evening to see the definitive top 26 cursive letters!
