I’m going to resist the urge to be sarcastic here and just say that articles (this one is a Jeff Cavins podcast) like this are extremely problematic, for so many reasons. And the headline is awful.

The Faith is not a weight-loss program and should never be portrayed as one.
I don’t think a disclaimer stating you should always talk to your doctor is enough to absolve or prevent the damage that might be done by overspiritualizing food and diet.
I get that someone thought it was cute to make the headline play on “Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover,” but first of all, we really don’t need to be referencing that song in a religious context. Secondly, it’s not really a good, Christian act to tell someone they have “blubber.”
Finally, our faith is so much more than another boring endless reduction to the secular religion of “healthy eating.” We can get that kind of message literally anywhere else.
