Nobody wants to hear this but if 500 rioters can raze entire blocks in your town with scant resistance from locals then your community destroyed itself years ago and now you're witnessing the material consequences of its spiritual devastation
It's so myopic of conservatives to performatively mourn the "death of the nuclear family" when it's the death of the COMMUNITY that has rendered America into a socially impoverished wasteland
I think about my working class grandparents and the parties they'd host when I was a kid. Impromptu parties attended by 3rd cousins and coworkers, neighbors and friends, laughing into the night just celebrating one another's company. That's been replaced by Netflix for most
The country our ancestors built wasn't just buildings and businesses, it was a network of close friendships and family ties. Most of that is gone now so why wouldn't infrastructure follow suit? Capital has rendered brick and mortars extinct anyways, the riots are just accelerants
Fwiw most of what's getting torched is ugly ass commercial real estate peddling services that nobody really needs. That's what our culture is now. Is it really any wonder that nobody's willing to die for used car lots and life insurance offices?
Know how conservatives entertain the notion that, in the event of major state oppression, they'd be able to rely on ample firearm ownership to protect themselves and their own? These riots are a trial run which proves how extremely lofty that notion is for many
There are 1000s of conservative fighting age males in Kenosha and its surrounding area that could easily band together to protect local homes/businesses but there are 0 communal systems in place that'd facilitate their doing so. Most don't even know their neighbors or cousins
For all the American bombast about civilian gun ownership, it's become clear that excessive firearm stockpiling is actually quite useless without the kind of community organization that inspires (defensive ofc) cause. Maybe it really is a penis cope
People don't have the kind of social ties they'd die for anymore and it shows. In fact I'd even argue that's partially what these demonstrators are subconsciously railing against—they're just making their communities look like how they feel: BROKEN
So what do the rioters and the effete locals they're terrorizing have in common? The trauma of broken families, the despair of extreme atomization, the indignity of inescapable corporate junk culture. Shit's bad all around. That's why BLM is breaking shit and we let them
