US-backed Rwandan dictator Paul Kagame, "the greatest war criminal alive today", continues to ride the wave of the 1994 Rwanda genocide, giving him licence to do as he pleases, having been in power for over 2 decades and showing no signs of letting go...
When Kagame's opponents keep disappearing and getting murdered in the streets at home and abroad, no one bats an eyelid because he "ended a genocide" in 1994, and besides, the capital Kigali is very clean, with internet on buses and a ban on plastic bags
Rwanda MP and opposition member Léonard Hitimana vanished without a trace in 2003, and former President of the Court of Cassation Augustin Cyiza suffered the same fate in 2004. The Vice President of the Green Party (opposition) was found dead after being tortured
Journalist Jean-Léonard Rugambage, who was investigating the case of former Kagame ally, General Kayumba Nyamwasa, who had switched to the opposition, was killed in 2010 after Kayumba himself had been the target of two assassination attempts
Former head of intelligence Patrick Karegeya was found strangled in a South African hotel room on 1 January 2014 after becoming a critic of Kagame. Opposition journalist Charles Ingabire, a genocide survivor, was shot dead in the street in Kampala in November 2011
Victoire Ingabire, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for running in the elections against Kagame! Crickets
No one said anything when Kagame's troops instigated the Kibeho massacre in 1995, described by eyewitnesses as follows:
"Not long after 10 am, in heavy rain, forces began firing into the crowd in a hospital compound, causing a stampede of refugees against razor wire and barricades. RPA forces continued to fire at fleeing refugees for the next two hours"
"While initially firing into the massed crowd with rifles, the RPA later began using 60mm mortars. Corporal Paul Jordan wrote "we watched as these people were hunted down and shot." The RPA slowed for a while after lunch before resuming fire until about 6 pm"
Kagame was given a pass because "Rwanda genocide". He got 99% of the vote and didn't need even cheat because the "fear was such that obedience became real". The international community, "trapped in its remorse and seduced by his progress", continues to let things slide
When Kagame invaded Eastern DRC in the late 90s (backed by the U.S who wanted to control the world's richest mineral region, Kivu) sparking a war that killed 3 million people, it was deemed fine because "1994 Rwanda genocide" plus Kigali is very nice and clean
Paul Kagame the dictator speaks with authority, the only African head of State seen as an equal with the world's most powerful leaders, with influence in international tribunals - all because he has allowed the West to pillage the continent for the benefit of himself & his family
