Why is the pressure to “be the bigger person” always places on the person who was wronged?

Why have we created a society where the villains get to treat people ANY kinda way BUT the ones who must accept accountability, exercise patience & restraint, & forgive are those...who were wronged? Why is none of this directed towards the wrongdoers?

To those of you replying and agree with the “bigger person” narrative, some of y’all’s reasons are logical and make sense on a case by case basis but please understand my firm position on this. With all due respect...that’s some bullshit.

The “bigger person” narrative is nothing more than manipulation, gaslighting, & mind games at their finest. Nothing more, nothing less

Y’all sit on here & watch Black people be murdered, harassed, beaten, mistreated, humiliated, and God knows what else...yet y’all tell us to take it to the chin and continue to let it slide. How do y’all not see this shit is nothing but a tool to enable & excuse evil

If yeen feel that one...I got another.

Y’all sit on here & watch women be harassed, abused, violated, & disrespected...YET when they reciprocate that energy. Y’all make em feel delusional & sympathize with the Mfs that harmed them instead of...the harmed. They have every right to be pissed tf off

At the end of the day, this whole “bigger person” narrative is a mere mind control tactic to keep the oppressed, marginalized, & less powerful exactly where they are. Bc GOD FORBID they stop accepting the BS and revolt...

So let’s change that. Instead of forcing the wronged to not only live with their trauma AND be mentally mature for SOMEONE ELSE’S mistakes...let’s hold THOSE accountable and get THEM to correct the issue. If that doesn’t work, any consequence is a suitable response
