These past few months, I’ve met some people (mostly men) who genuinely believe that content creators/influencers sit around all day doing nothing. The ignorance I understand but the disbelief and condescension is what I find amazing.

It goes from disbelief and condescension to annoyance the minute they clock that not only do you have to work around the clock most days, you are also getting paid. Then you start hearing things like “relax, you work too much” or “Nawa”

That “you work too much” isn’t even because you are “working too much” it’s that they honestly did not expect you to be working just as much as most people with a 9-5. With 9-5s you can even pack up and leave work, most content creators do not have this liberty.

Met some people who were genuinely confused at how busy I was at the beginning of lock down. Most people were not working so they were confused that I had so much work to do. People were at home, they had more time to watch videos.

Most creators were trying to capitalize on this and it kind of equaled more work for a lot of us. It should be a no brainer.

I am honestly no longer at a point in my life where I feel the need to explain myself to people but I get really shocked when I hear young people saying ridiculous things. How are you this uninformed in 2020?
