Passed a Black brother in heated interaction with the cops. It was tense. There were four cops around this one brother. I stopped. Others stopped. We all put on our hazard lights on. Some of us started recording. All of us were Black. He made it out alive.

This country. Damn.
This is the day after Jacob Blake gets seven bullets in his Black body. We knew how this story could end. We didn’t want him to be alone. It breaks my heart because this is the reality we are living in. The fear over the mother’s face beside me has me shook. I hate it all.
I keep trying to make sense of this picture: Black boy bodies and white boy bodies with badges and bullets. We know what this can mean for us. We knew, one by one, that we couldn’t keep driving. It is terror. I saw how angry he was. I’m just glad he made. But I know he’s wounded.
