why thai is one of the hardest languages to learn: a thread
omg look at all these alphabets & vowels
omg they are devided into 3 groups and each group has its own rules?!?? and you need to remember each and every rule?????
omg this group will sound normal with this vowel but sound low with the same vowel with a consonant ending but sound low with this short vowel that’s basically identical but actually isn’t but sound high with with a ห in front of it but the other group can’t have a ห????
we have our own numbers btw ❤️
there are like 94472938912 S’s and you need to remember the source of the root word so you know the exact S to use 👍
we have no grammar. we literally don’t have a grammar textbook or sum because it’s really really fluid. if you are able to find one, however, try using it irl and you’ll sound weird and robotic asf 👎
and you thought writing a poem was hard lol
(we need to write these kinds of poetry at least once per semester for mother’s day or sum)
look at all these pronouns that you must use your senses of what to use because it depends on who ure talking to, who you are, what gender you identify with, what job you do, how old you are, how close you are with that person, the age difference between u & the listener, etc.
for example, these are only the 1st person pronouns used when talking to the king & his family
thai ppl talk really fast and we like to shorten words, only experience will help you with listening skills.
this is a doctors’ handwriting 🤩
pronunciation can be quite difficult, too. ควาย = kwai, buffalo ควย = kwoi, dick // รัก = rak, to love ลัก = lak, to steal ,etc.
but we have a lot of cuss words so that’s one great thing about the thai language. bye. ❤️
