First of all I say healthy lifestyle because dieting is triggering and restricts too much things. I was also coming from a period of BED and bad bulimic cycle. If you want to be healthy you have to change your LIFESTYLE.
1. When I started I would make lists of fruits and vegetables that I like so I can see what all I can work with to plan a meal.
2. Before shopping I would plan my meals. Now you don't have to do this but it does help reduce waste when you forget about certain items you have.
Ex. Fruit for BF, salad for L, protein + veggies for dinner

3. This brings me to my next point actually. MAKE A LIST OF EXPIRATION DATES IN ORDER. This helps tremendously if you don't plan meals or forget to plan them. That way you can see what is expiring soon and eat something using that. It does take a few minutes to do but it's worth.
4. Recipes, recipes, recipes. You may think your veggies are boring and need some kind of umph to bring them to life. Don't be afraid to look up a recipe! Most seasoning is insignificant in calories. Also don't be afraid to substitute either or leave something you don't have out.
5. If you do find yourself with fresh food quickly expiring and/or forgot about it figure out how to freeze it!
6. If you are afraid of bread, tortillas are a great substitute. You can get them in all sorts of flavors and sizes. Also not all of them are super high in calories. I get carb smart which is about 70 calories.
7. Exercise IS important. We know that right? But you don't have to push yourself to work 60 minutes a day. 20 to 30 minutes even 15 every couple of days is enough. You'll feel less guilty and more energized. (My favorite to do is HIIT.)
8. Get some sunshine and fresh air. Sun is important key to getting vitamin D which is a vitamin if you are low in you can find yourself more depressed/tired. So go for a walk outside, throw the ball for your dog, etc. Even if its cloudy you can still get some vitamin D!!!
9. Being bored can lead to depressive thoughts and possibly binges so always try to indulge yourself in hobbies you enjoy. Reading, video games, drawing, music, whatever floats your boat. Sometimes even just chatting with a friend can help.
I added all my main points but here's some more things I want to add:
Don't worry about drinking diet drinks or zero calorie sweetener. Pretty much everything causes cancer so?
Don't be afraid to have a "cheat" day. The recommended cheat day is every 10 days!!!

Also make sure your sleep is on a schedule and you are getting 6 to 8 hours a night. This does wonders for mental health.
I can't think of anything else atm but feel free to add your own tips!!

I say that and then I remembered, if you are looking at recipes and it yields too many servings for you(single people problem) look up measurements to divide that into how ever many you need. Ex. Recipe makes 4 tilapia fillets, divide everything by 4 for 1 serving
I did all these things and I was so much better. I wasn't binging as often, I wasn't getting super anxious or depressed. I was genuinely happy doing all these things. I had more energy to cook my food and clean which was rare before. But sometimes life knocks you down and it's -
Inevitable but don't give up. Keep fighting. Sorry this thread is super long and rambly.
