Here’s an educational thread on BTS lyricisms and how they’re so vocal on social issues, mental health and some other current issues.

Whalien 52 is a combination of Whale and Alien; while 52 is the unusually 52-hertz frequency that higher than normal whales frequency (12 - 25 Hertz).

Because the Whalien 52 pitch is higher than normal whale, so other whales can’t hear it.

134340 is an assigned number to used-to-be planet “Pluto”.

But as Pluto losing its planetary status, people seems to forget that Pluto once belong to solar system as a planet.

They’re now just as same as asteroids and some fellow dwarf planets

This song is a metaphor for the loneliness and the feeling of abandonment.

Like we used to be someone favourite at sometimes, but once they erase us from them, we are just like pluto, an unknown numbers.

But we are the one who still revolves around that person.

It’s about social conflict / hierarchy concept. Also, how older generation saying that young generation aren’t succeeding because they don’t work hard enough.

Crow Tit is a of Bird. Korean using this to call someone who ruined themselves to imitate or copy other people. There’s a phrase in Korean “ If a Crow-Tit walks like a stork, it will break its leg” which mean that you’ll ruin yourself if you try to imitate someone better than you

This song is about of self love, how we put a harder standard to ourselves compare to others.

But as RM said;

Magic Shop is a Psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude.

“Magic Shop” is the place where they will be there to comfort us when we needed them.

This song was made to comfort our struggles, pain and tiredness.

They reminded us that there’s someone ( @BTS_twt ) who will always be there to comfort us.

ANPANMAN literally means Bread Man (his head is a bun).He's helping starving children by letting them take a bite of his head which a bun filled with red bean paste. Even when he gave his head to the children and made them feel better he's becoming weak.

So, he'll return to his base and replace the partly consumed head.

So, here BTS are saying that although they're not superhero, they still can be Anpanman to us. Meaning, despite getting hurt protecting us, they will continue to protect us and being our hero.

This is about asking young generation not to be materialistic and respecting the elders. They also criticize the unfair class system which is always be divided into two; the one who have and the one who doesn’t have.

One of the issues that time was "A Padding Craze"

Almost every students in S.Korea that time wore "North Face" padding jacket. If you don't own one of that, you are out of trend.

This was called "Spine Breaker" because students gonna break their parents back just to own it

This song commenting about the corrupt government. They don’t even care on what general public wants and only focusing to please upper level and top 1%.

During that time, A multi-layered corruption scandal erupted and impeached their former president.

It’s like they got ears but they pretended not hear, they got eyes but pretended like not see while the government treated us like pigs & dogs.

Anger is sometimes necessary. Good Anger can actually lead to change theworld & history.
