Today is the day I had to add "views own" to my social media profiles.

As yeah I had a conversation with my employer, O.o.

Fortunately prior research for a paper meant I have read in much detail the Social Media policy of my employer, so I know what I'm allowed to do and how that impacts my employment. https://www.imperial.ac.uk/staff/tools-and-reference/web-guide/tools/social-media/

Though all of this is because some folks don't like me talking in favour of certain social justice issues.

I will leave it as an exercise to the reader to think about which team complained.

And yes, if they read this - my employer and I had a very clear and helpful discussion, thank you.

General advice from this:
Find supporters at your employer, preferably who also use social media & engage on social justice issues.
Read your employer policies, and consider how people might attack you.

Also - to be clear - "views own" is my choice, not required or asked by employer. The conversation with employer was totally above board, and I'm ok with it.
