you think if i post a take at 8 am it means people won't see it
anyway i think that we need to be more mindful of the fact that like it or not the indie design sphere is an industry space and as such we walk a very thin line between being colleagues and being friends with fellow designers
which isn't to say they have to be mutually exclusive? but when you work with your friends you can't use it as an excuse to take advantage of them, and actually it's even MORE important to be clear about what you want and what they get BECAUSE you want them to know you value them
this INCLUDES being upfront about your failings. look, i get it, we can't always be perfectly punctual, whether because bad brain or *gestures at the world* but i have never met a designer who wasn't understanding of those sorts of circumstances.
but the thing is is that not every designer is your friend. not all of your mutuals are either. this isn't like a tumblr dash. like, sure, i'd still go to bat for many of my mutuals, but that doesn't make us friends.
this gets into more thoughts about contracts than i'm really ready to talk about at 8am so we're just gonna put a pin in that.

anyway all i'm trying to say is when you work with friends you have to treat them with the same professionalism and respect you'd show to a stranger.
this means: outlining expectations, being upfront about timelines, setting boundaries (for yourself also! boundaries are important!), staying on top of if shit changes, and being understanding if they say no or need to push back for some reason.
whoops i started talking about contract stuff. oh well. fingerguns. good morning all
