disclaimer: this is just my understanding and interpretation of the whole skzverse haha enjoy!!

so let's go back to the start of District 9, at the start of D9 we can hear alarms going off and an announcement saying "WARNING!! CONTAINMENT UNIT BREACH" that means something must have come from the outside of district 9

but even before the breach, the boys experienced glitches in the system (like hyunjin and woojin seeing glitches in the I AM NOT trailer) or they start to notice that something is not quite right here

another glitch they experience is jeongin seeing himself, this part is highly relevant to the story and also one of the biggest proofs to my theory but i will get back to that later i promise

before, chan was the most dubious of the system, and his theories are finally confirmed in the D9 MV when he sees the destroyed drone and what looks like the barrier of D9 itself

so the boys then take advantage of the containment breach and escape D9, all along they think that something went wrong with the system accidentally and that was how they got out, not thinking that maybe someone actually helped them out

another clue in D9 that shows someone helped them out was the bus they escaped in, at the start of the MV, we see the bus crashing into the gates of D9 as the alarms go off, so someone must have drove it into the gates from the outside and left it there for skz to use

but skz know no one from the outside of district 9, so they never thought that there could actually be someone helping them, by the end of the MV we see the boys ultimately escape but we never find out who or what caused the breach

now that they are outside aka MY PACE MV, they struggle to try to fit in and adjust to the new world around them, but they also try to have fun with their new found freedom

until they realize that maybe they havent fully escaped district 9 yet, in the I AM YOU MV, Jisung takes down a camera that seems to be spying on them

the camera that's spying on them has a green filter on it, which we also see in the D9 MV and MY PACE MV, now they realize they never really escaped, they've only escaped the prison of D9

the rest of I AM YOU MV shows the preparation and planning of SKZ to take down the D9 system, and it shows us their determination to take it down as a team

at the end of I AM YOU, we see the boys overlooking a city nearby, meaning they already have already come up with a plan to put a stop to all of this, which brings us to MIROH

SKZ's plan is to overthrow the leaders of this world, thinking if they stop the leaders, it will stop D9 once and for all, which all plays out in MIROH MV

at first they think they are successful but in the end nothing changed (as said in the highlight reel) as if the entire world just fixed everything that skz fought and broke no matter how many times they do it over and over again

they try to do this over and over again but everything comes back to normal, here they realize that the universe, where d9 is in, is their real enemy, whatever they will break in it, it will just easily fix itself

that's when they come up with the idea to find what helped them break free from their prison is district 9 in the first place, what caused the breach and glitches back then? maybe they could use it again to their advantage

they then go to yellow wood in search for the answers.

im also going to point out smth in the teaser of side effects, we see that the others can go left or right, symbolizing that they can make diff choices, while jeongin is blocked by a tree, meaning he has no choice. hm why is that?

by the way, im sorry i havent touched much on jeongin yet, if i explain it to you now, it might just get more confusing huhu (but if you really want to know now, you may skip to the explanation of astronaut where i plan to explain about him too)

while in yellow wood, they start to experience conflict in the group (ex: hyunjin fighting the others, some of them are also starting to feel hopelessness and having thoughts of giving up)

in side effects they also show that they had the choice to give up before, which is represented in the scene of them riding the bus where i believe the bus was going to take them back to the D9 prison, but they chose the road not taken, they chose not to give up just yet

eventually, the group resolves their problems and become even stronger as a team, which makes them an even bigger threat to the world

and i will stop here for now because I have to post this thread first before i can add more tweets to the thread for some reason, im not done yet hehe wait for me please i'll finish it as soon as i can!!
