Yikes... reading these comments is disheartening bc >90% of you failed to even grasp the point I was making...

Hint: It has literally nothing to do with whether it’s “right” or “wrong” for any person of any race or political affiliation to call him an Uncle Tom.

Rather, I was referring to the relentless promotion of the same narrative by many people on the right, claiming that:

“the left” is intolerant of other viewpoints

“the left” shuns and shames anyone who disagrees w/ them

“the left” hates people who think for themselves

Etc.

The irony is that when you continuously & arbitrarily thrust this idea upon other Repubs and conservatives every single day, they too start to truly believe that the left hates them and will crucify them if they offer a different opinion, which is just absolutely not true.

So this hypocritical rhetoric from people like @charliekirk11 @RitaPanahi and @TuckerCarlson (& a long list of others) of “THE LEFT F*CKING HATES YOU,” causes a much more severe & pervasive chilling effect b/w Dems and Repubs than “cancel culture” ever did in the first place.
