HOORAY! It& #39;s annual #performancereview time!

Time for the #University to #gaslight you by simultaneously admonishing you for not taking enough time off while expressing disappointment you haven& #39;t met an arbitrary quantitative metric across 20 different categories of evaluation.
You will now be admonished paternalistically about how the University takes your mental health seriously & really believes you should take leave and work only 37.5h/wk.

But you should also now take on several new committee chairs, join industry peak bodies, advise government...
Starting a commercially successful startup in your free time is encouraged. But its only viewed the same as joining an industry association .

They& #39;re the same right? Starting a company & attracting millions in VC funding to employ dozens, and paying $500 to join APS.
Oh, but make sure that while you& #39;re starting a startup on top of your other responsibilities, grants, student mentorship, leadership, outreach and engagement, that you don& #39;t work more than 37.5h per week because we care about your well being.

#HR #Gaslighting
#University #performancemanagement is the ultimate hellish three-way marriage of #HR bureaucracy, untrained managers, and faux #data driven processes.

It& #39;s the absolute worst way to run an organization. At least I learned what not to replicate.
