Another point to yesterday’s conversation about career / job. If you get an opportunity to go into sales / client relationship management, take it. You learn so much about product, strategy and most importantly, clients
Your next job could come from known contacts, so sales is a good way to deepen that network. I had to do sales throughout my life, despite being a fund manager. I have deep appreciation for sales
I also learnt a lot from clients (and got scolded) which shapes you. Teaches you adaptability of how to present, how to strategise, what needs to be said / not. Few years later those skills will come in very handy
As CEO you’re the co’s No.1 salesperson, no two ways about it. Might as well develop that skill early on and make mistakes whilst you can
