honestly tog fits better as seinen genre? like the characters are already adults and considering the amount of "struggles" and emotional depth that these people are facing is somehow more relatable for adults rather than with "boys" demographic
this is somehow biased of me since I have more tendency to read seinen works, but if I can compare the level of complications in tog& #39;s narratives with other seinen mangas it& #39;s honestly not a reach. also bam doesn& #39;t fit much with those shounen-MC trope
at first glance tog does seems like other shounen works with overpowered MC and "I have to save the world" narrative, but there are more realistic depth in how every people here behaving and developed themselves. many characters in tog are somehow a real-life projection that +
often found in daily basis. one very good example is khun, bet many people agrees that khun is basically "your self-projecting character but bluer (and smarter)" lmao
another thing is the many layers of mysteriousness that lies within bam and rachel. these two, if not understood correctly, often put people off especially rachel. the effort just for writing these two, for me, requires a lot of energy (which is admirable of SIU) because it& #39;s +
not easy to write a main character as the focal point of a story while at the same time keeping their mystery as hidden as possible.
and that& #39;s not just for character& #39;s past, emotional development of tog characters are often raw at some times that if not understood in the right way, might look odd.
