About @BLACKPINK 's clothing
TW: Sexualization, Slut Shaming, etc.

Hi blinks.
I've seen some international blinks not understanding why KBlinks are so overly protective of revealing clothing that the pinks have been wearing in the Ice Cream teaser photos. Although I cannot say
for sure, here are the reasons, as a kblink, why I think so.

1. The history of sexualization and gender equality in Korea
•For years, gender equality has been, and still is, a huge problem in Korea. The dresscode in offices, for example, was that women needed to wear heels and
and short skirts in the workplace. Of course, men had to wear dress pants and a button up shirt as well, but the difference between the dress code was that the one for women was actively sexualizing the women in the workplace. Same issue could be seen in KPOP. Although it
has gotten better as time went by, for a long time the comments under Kpop girlgroups wearing revealing clothing wasn't positive at all. There was a lot of slut shaming and sexualization (borderline or sometimes actual sexual harrassment). It hasn't completely stopped, either,
so I feel this might be one of the core reasons why Kblinks feel overprotective.

2. The culture (religion?) that is rooted in SK
Confucianism was very popular in Korea hundreds of years ago, and a lot of these beliefs still exist today. (Personally, I hate these beliefs but
its so deeply rooted in our culture that we can't really do anything about it.) Respecting your elders is a big rule. Another big rule is 'staying modest' for women. To clarify, are Kblinks offended when BP shows some skin? No. Its the comments that are rooted from
these beliefs I feel we are worried about.

I get that y'all want the pinks to wear whatever they want and have everyone's support, but at the end of the day its a difference in culture that you just have to accept. KPOP means Korean Pop, so that means there are some social
'rules' that you aren't used to. We have to agree to disagree and just focus on suppodting the pinks. So please stop threatening to kill our firstborns, thank you.
My personal opinion? Women are allowed to wear whatever they want. They are allowed to feel sexy for themselves (a concept that most Koreans aren't used to, tbh). I wasn't sure if y'all were just out for blood or actually thought what KBlinks were doing was weird, so I made this
thread in hopes of helping. It is not my intention to hurt anyone, and I will take this thread down if I see it wrecking more havoc than sorting stuff out.

Be nice to each other.
