"make friends with the cleaners/cooks" surely that& #39;s expected? Is it needed as advice? It makes me feel uneasy & i can& #39;t quite articulate why. I think it& #39;s a class thing maybe. When I first starter working in schools a cleaner called me "Sir" & I felt horrible. Embarrassed.
That was after school with no kids around either. I know the advice is from a good place and people mean well. But it gives the impression that otherwise people wouldn& #39;t consider/think to talk to the lowly working class folk in the school.
Again, I& #39;m not saying that& #39;s what people on here think exactly, just spilling out some thoughts on how things make me feel sometimes.
