Protesters are smashing the windows of the state Capitol building now, along with some of the bulb lights at the entrances.
Marching down South Hamilton Street now.
Police are defending the Dane County Courthouse. Protesters just rolled a dumpster in their direction. Demonstrators also threw a few rocks.
Police just shot tear gas at protesters in front of the Dane County Courthouse.
“This is an unlawful assembly,” police say over a loudspeaker.

They say protesters are subject to arrest if they do not disperse.
More windows are being smashed on the Capitol Square.
Protesters and police are playing a game of cat and mouse, with police coming up behind them or cornering them with a police line and using tear gas. Protesters then disperse, run away and regroup.

Seems like this pattern will continue for some time.
I’m headed out for the night. I believe @wjcioci with @WisconsinWatch may still be there, but I’m not sure.
Just got home, and my roommate said the teargas got into our apartment on East Washington Avenue. (Our windows were open because we don’t have air conditioning).

It’s cleared out now, but she woke up and couldn’t breath inside of her own room.
