Do you guys think it is a coincidence that young SWAPO members will break their backs defending actions of the party no matter how indefensible they may be? SWAPO has created a “reward loyalty” culture as opposed to a “reward hardwork and accountability” culture.

This is just one of the many failures of the party. This is why a young person who makes it up the ranks of swapo does not impress me or give me any kind of hope. You made it because you could tap dance the fastest, and that is a lot more dangerous than it is impressive.

Young swapo members spent their energy trying to distance the party from allegations of corruption that were committed by ministers and inner circle swapo loyalist. The more prudent thing to do would have been to address the corruption in the party that is almost endemic.

But in the end, history will remember and reward those who did things based on principles and not political expediency.
