READ THIS! I'm NOT advocating for self-diagnosis ah but I recognize some people just can't. --cont-- https://twitter.com/soojinspella/status/1295832013379862528
I understand my privilege when I got diagnosed, even when that came with my dad throwing a tantrum and saying "wala akong anak na baliw." 😬 My exp was terrible, but I mean, at least it's formal and I have it on paper and I got prescribed meds. --cont--
So even if the people around me didn't understand what I was going through, I knew what to do. I knew where to look for help. Some people don't have that privilege.

Just because my privilege isn't optimum doesn't mean it wasn't there. --cont--
HOWEVER, if u have the means to pay for shit and just refuse to get proper diagnosis (NOT EVEN TREATMENT HA, just get urself diagnosed), that's whole ass different issue. I believe that's not acceptable. You makin it worse for people like me who went through the trouble --cont--
Cos you HAVE the means. You just refuse to seek help. Seriously, get diagnosed if you can. Stop making illnesses like these look like they're imaginary. --cont--
Some people don't wanna get diagnosed cos they're afraid... What if it's not real? I understand AND I wanna call that BS attitude out. If you think it's real, get urself diagnosed. If u think it's not, then don't say u have an illness. --cont--
If you're not sure and you HAVE THE MEANS to get a diagnosis, ffs GET DIAGNOSED. These illnesses are life-threatening and should be taken seriously. If u have the means to take meds for allergies, have that same enthusiasm when dealing with mental health illnesses.
Let me wrap this up for now by saying this: Not acting on MH problems is just as problematic as making the wrong choices for your MH. The only right way out is to GET YOURSELF CHECKED. Normalize seeking professional advice. And check the replies in this thread for more info
