Is abortion is the only issue for Catholic voters? No.

Do I think Trump is a paragon of morality & personally opposes abortion? No.

Do I think the GOP has major issues? Yes.

That said, I do not see anything in Biden/DNC which makes me think "This is the more Catholic option."
A lot of Catholics have an issue with Trump. I used to be one of the most anti-GOP Catholics around. But in 2016, I left the Democratic Party because abortion became enshrined in the DNC as a pseudo-sacrament, a non-negotiable element along with euthanasia & LGBT promotion.
My claim against Trump was "muh he's a racist/xenophobe/isn't REALLY pro-life, he's just using it to win Republican voters." But eventually, I realized that even if he was feigning pro-life activism to get votes, that is STILL better than being pro-abortion in heart AND policy.
In my liberal days, I remember arguing with conservative Catholics about how the REAL pro-life movement is also about caring for the poor, the stranger, etc. And for some reason, I saw the Democrats as doing that better than Republicans. But that was a debatable claim at best.
I tried the whole Catholic & pro-life Democrat thing for a while, until I realized that it was futile. The Democratic platform is so deep in abortion "rights", euthanasia, open-borders, gender, sex & race ideology, that "muh food stamps" isn't a good enough reason for me to stay.
Neither the Republican nor the Democratic Party fully represents Catholic values & concerns. But one party—albeit imperfectly—tries to fight against the mass slaughter of innocent unborn life in the womb. The other thinks such slaughter should exist without restriction.
God has used political leaders with imperfections as instruments of justice. And so, despite my cringing & doubting of Trump's authenticity on the pro-life platform, if his presidency results in SCOTUS appointees who fight against abortion, then that's what is important.
I've learned that abortion is not simply one moral issue among many— it is *the* most pressing issue of our day. If a government supports the killing & dismembering of children in the womb without restrictions & on-demand, then what kind of foundation can we build on? None.
While Catholics can have prudential disagreements about other "life issues" (capital punishment, climate change, immigration), abortion—by its very nature—is absolute. Either you vote to support it (or vote for someone despite their explicit support of it), or you vote against it
Abortion isn't the only issue for Catholic voters, but it's certainly the most important. Americans are given a choice between two men of questionable character & morals, but given the choice, I'll vote for the one who *doesn't* support unborn genocide & suing nuns. #MAGA 🇺🇲🤱✝️
