Doi Darts actually started during Blood Warriors era in which Doi along with Kzy & Tanizaki were called Team Doi Darts.

It was used to determine some stuff like types of stipulations and choosing tag partners (or just fucking around).
Doi then brought it back in 2012 which became the format for the Doi Darts we see today every year.

It's always done in the first week of December at Korakuen Hall and the dartboard will have names of the whole roster.
The only people who can throw these darts are the kids, so the wrestlers would pick them from the audience.

The names hit by the darts will have to wrestle in a special Doi Darts tag match on the next Korakuen Hall show.

DOI DARTS IS THE LAW. So once you are picked, it can't be changed at all.

Doi Darts also doesn't care about alignments, so if the names picked for a certain team happen to be a mix of monster heels and pure babyfaces, so be it.

Getting picked by Doi Darts is actually a benefit to some people too, especially the rookies and trainees.

Considering the tag match is always the main event of the show, it is a chance for them to main event and show more what they can do.
Since the darts are thrown by kids, funny and unexpected stuff would occur.

Since Doi has always been the one who makes the dartboard (allegedly), he could make it however he likes. So sometimes, the names on the dartboard would be made deliberately bigger than others for evil intentions.

In 2015, Doi was heeling it up and didn't wanna do Doi Darts so Tozawa took over & did a Treasure Hunt. The tag match happened and right before Tozawa could close the show, Doi & VerserK came out with the dartboard for the match scheduled for next month. https://twitter.com/AHROOMEE/status/1296655233238462464
All in all, Doi Darts is one of the most entertaining things in DG (and probably wrestling in general) and a wonderful time for both adult and kids
