Policy-heavy discussion of telehealth reimbursements to open the Republican Convention

The Republican Convention is all dense policy talk so far!

Trump brags about the CARES Act.

Trump immediately talks about how he’s helping the post office. It’s all policy so far.

This convention has a lot of dishonesty but it is remarkably different in tone from the DNC because it’s all policy chatter. Lower insulin prices, cheaper health care, better post office. All lies but all policy.

The bet here seems to be repeating Trump did a great job on Covid will get enough Americans to believe it. Hard to imagine that bet will pay off.

Lots of racist dog whistling, lots of policy lies, lots of cynicism and plastic surgery, but this convention is all about the country and what the government has and will do.

Dem convention was all about how Biden is a great guy.

Trump is running as the candidate of change.

Some strong 2012 Obama/Romney campaign energy at these conventions, an incumbent running as the candidate of change against a challenger seeking a restoration.
