Twitch Streamers met Ogilvy's recent Burger King campaign on their channels with a lot of hostility.

Burger King hijacked the donations (in which they read out your message) to some popular streamers with $5 donations.

This led to a lot of negativity on the platform and was actually an unethical way to collab with influencers.

Some streamers even called out Burger King and some chats dog-piled the brand.

Lesson?

Reach out to work with influencers on mutually beneficial agreements.
For a scope of view - Burger King would donate $5 and read items off their menu to thousands of people.

Typically, a larger donation would bring less hostility...
