when i focus on seto i'm always astounded by just how intensely mentally ill coded he is and how i rarely see ppl bringing it up but then i remember the anime glossed over that part of his character like hell

i think abt that interview with takahashi talking about the sheer impact gozaburo and everything he did had on seto's behavior and i Weep

it makes his character make so much more sense though... like yeah it's funny to read him as a totally batshit wild intense gamer dude but when you realize he's traumatized to hell and back it's like oh.... that explains literally everything.

like yeah dude games are a matter of life and death to him. no really, his abusive dad taught him that and showed him that by ending his life as soon as seto "defeated" him in his "game". it's no fucking wonder seto acts Like That.
